Track Politician Stock Portfolios on ProBors

See politician portfolio holdings snapshots on ProBors, normalized for tables and AI chat—alongside individual trade history and performance views.

Politician portfolio tracking on ProBors helps you see holdings snapshots—not just individual buys and sells—so you understand exposure before the next filing drops.

Congress members report periodic position snapshots. ProBors caches these where available and normalizes holdings for search, tables, and AI answers.

Portfolio view vs trade history

Performance screensHow disclosed activity relates to returns context

Start with trades for "what happened this week." Use portfolio when you ask "what are they exposed to?"

How to look up a politician on ProBors

Names in the database are often formal ("Last, Hon. First"). The AI assistant uses match_politicians to resolve fuzzy names before portfolio or trade search.

In the UI:

  1. Search the politician
  2. Open profile or portfolio tab when snapshots exist
  3. Compare holdings to recent trades for consistency

If no snapshot is cached, ProBors lists available snapshots via portfolio APIs—try another reporting period or fall back to trade history.

Using AI for portfolio questions

Examples:

  • "Show Pelosi portfolio holdings as a table"
  • "Which politicians hold MSFT in their latest snapshot?"
  • "List portfolio snapshots available for Schiff"

The assistant should use normalized holding columns—not invent tickers.

Limitations to remember

  • Snapshots are as-of filing date, not live brokerage balances
  • Amounts are often ranges, not share counts
  • Amendments can revise prior filings

ProBors surfaces structured fields; you still interpret filing rules.
