ProBors Stock analysis is a one-shot research brief for a single ticker—not a chat thread. Open it from the Market workspace, pick Standard or Deep depth, optionally fold in recent House and Senate disclosures, and get a formatted markdown report you can export as PDF or plain text. This guide walks through the full screen workflow for disclosure researchers who want a shareable snapshot, not investment advice.
Quick answer
Sign in at probors.com, open the Market tab, load a symbol in Workspace, and click Stock analysis in the quote strip. In the left Research setup panel, confirm the ticker, choose Standard or Deep, leave Congress disclosures on when political activity matters, then click Analyze {TICKER}. The main pane shows a Complete brief with generation time and credits used; use Export for a PDF report or text file. Return to Market with the ← Market back button when you want chart markers or row-by-row verification.
How Stock analysis differs from Chat
ProBors offers two AI research paths:
| Tool | Best for |
|---|---|
| Stock analysis (this guide) | One ticker, one structured brief, export-ready |
| Chat (AI research assistant) | Follow-up questions, cross-ticker tables, watchlist prompts |
Stock analysis is intentionally narrow: you configure depth and congress inclusion up front, run once, and read a single document. Chat is better when you need “compare NVDA congress buys to whale prints” or iterative filtering. Many researchers run Stock analysis first, then open Chat for edge-case questions.
Step 1: Open Stock analysis from the Market workspace
The Stock analysis screen is reached from Market → Workspace, not from the Trades or Whales tabs.
- Open the Market tab and confirm Workspace is selected (not Heatmap).
- Load a symbol via the ticker search strip, global search, or a heatmap tile click.
- When the quote strip shows the symbol, click Stock analysis in the header actions.
The button stays disabled until a ticker is loaded. If you land with an empty workspace, type a symbol first—popular chips such as AAPL, MSFT, NVDA, and WMT also appear on the Stock analysis empty state for a fast start.
Step 2: Configure symbol, depth, and congress context
The left Research setup sidebar controls what the brief contains:
Symbol — use the Ticker or company combobox. Type to search; pick a row from the dropdown or press Enter on a valid symbol. The field shows the company name once matched.
Depth — segmented Standard vs Deep:
- Standard — faster brief with core business, price context, and key risks.
- Deep — longer pass with more sections; costs more AI credits (shown after the run completes).
Congress disclosures — toggle Include recent House and Senate activity when you want STOCK Act rows woven into the narrative. Turn it off for a pure company-and-market brief when politics are irrelevant.
The top bar displays your remaining AI credits. If the balance is zero, the Analyze button is disabled and an inline No AI credits remaining message appears—top up through account settings before retrying.
Step 3: Run the brief and read the result
Click Analyze {TICKER} (sparkle icon). While the model works, the main pane shows Building {TICKER} research brief with a progress bar and a subtitle noting depth plus whether congress is included.
When finished:
- A Complete badge appears in the result toolbar.
- The title shows company name and ticker.
- Metadata lists Standard or Deep analysis, generation time, and credits charged.
- The body renders as formatted markdown—sections, lists, and emphasis like a research note.
Treat the brief as a starting outline. Cross-check any cited disclosure dates and amount brackets against the original filings or the disclosure context window before sharing externally.
Step 4: Export or return to Market for verification
Use the Export dropdown on the result toolbar:
| Format | Use case |
|---|---|
| PDF report | Formatted document for email or archival |
| Text file | Plain text for notes, diffing, or pasting into your research log |
← Market returns to the workspace on the same ticker. From there you can:
- Open Price & disclosures chart markers for timing context (market chart guide)
- Scroll the Congress trades and Insider trades tables for row-level fields
- Add the symbol or a politician to your watchlist for ongoing monitoring
If a brief references signal tiers on congress rows, see how ProBors trade signal scores work before treating a line as high conviction.
Step 5: Fit Stock analysis into a disclosure research routine
A practical weekly loop:
- Morning scan — Trades tab for fresh PTR rows (Trades tab guide).
- Ticker deep dive — Market workspace for price and filing markers.
- Brief generation — Stock analysis with congress on for names that crossed your signal floor.
- Verification — context window + official filing PDF for any row you might cite.
- Archive — export PDF or text into your research folder with the generation date in the filename.
Stock analysis does not replace reading source documents. It compresses public context so you know which rows deserve a manual check.
What this does not prove
A Stock analysis brief is synthesized research context, not a trading signal or legal record. It may summarize public disclosures and market data available to ProBors at generation time, but it does not prove intent, non-public information, or future price direction. Congress rows in the brief are still subject to STOCK Act filing lag and amount brackets—not exact trade sizes. Always verify against primary sources before publishing or acting on a line item.
FAQ
Is Stock analysis the same as the Chat tab?
No. Chat supports multi-turn questions, tables, and watchlist-aware prompts. Stock analysis produces one structured brief per run with fixed depth and export options. Use both: brief first, Chat for follow-ups.
When should I turn off Congress disclosures?
Turn the toggle off when you only need business and market context— for example, checking a supplier name that appeared in an insider filing but has no recent congressional activity. Leave it on when political trading history could explain volatility or headline risk.
Why did my analysis fail or show no credits?
Runs require a positive AI credit balance. Failed runs also occur when the ticker cannot be resolved or the service is temporarily unavailable. Check data status if market or disclosure sections look empty, then retry with a valid symbol.
Can I open Stock analysis without going through Market?
Today the primary entry is Stock analysis on the Market workspace quote strip, which passes the active ticker into the setup panel. You can still change the symbol inside Stock analysis before running.
Does Deep analysis include more congressional rows?
Depth controls how much company and market context the model develops. The congress toggle controls whether House and Senate activity is included at all—not how many rows appear in the Trades tab screener. For exhaustive PTR lists, use the Trades tab filters after reading the brief.
